Taiwan International Fisheries & Seafood Show 2019 presents eco-smart farming
The Taiwan International Fisheries & Seafood Show (TIFSS) 2019 will take place 26-28 September at the Kaohsiung Exhibition Centre in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. It is estimated that there will be nearly 1,000 professionals from more than 20 countries in attendance at the exhibition.
According to the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations, the Asia-Pacific region is listed as the most vulnerable region in the world where disasters are prone to occur due to the climate change, so the protection of agricultural food has become a leading priority. TIFSS 2019 has particularly set up the eco-smart farming area - providing solutions for the challenges faced by the aquaculture industry.
Eco-smart farming: "Smart fish farm"
The aquaculture water environment monitoring system is intended to assist aquaculture farmers to create "smart fish farms". By integrating AI control and big data parameter analysis platform in the field, it aims to increase productivity, food safety, and drug delivery precision as well as to reduce the production cost, demand and supply imbalance risk and losses due to extreme weather conditions.
Main environmental control factors and technology applications:
1. Aquaculture water environment monitoring
The Internet of things monitoring system can monitor the water temperature of aquaculture waters, the duration and the strength of the illumination 24/7, which can determine the breeding cycle and production quality of the fish growth.
2. Water quality monitoring
The ammonia nitrogen content, the salinity, the dissolved oxygen, and the unstable pH value will definitely affect fish growth and even cause fish poisoning and death, causing heavy losses. By setting up the sensors and combining the Internet of Things technology to automatically record the breeding environment and water quality data, the fish farmers can instantly check on the farm conditions via the instant monitoring and control data and figures. By combining the subsequent automatic waterwheel and others with this environmental monitoring and control, it is possible to reduce losses from diseased fish and to increase production capacity and output value.
3. Smart control system
Traditional aquaculture farmers use a lot of labour, and face high costs, whereas the IOT Smart Aquaculture System can automatically turn on the water exchange/oxygen increase and temperature control system. By introducing AI smart farming, the cost can be reduced, and production efficiency can be increased, creating more profit.
The Buyer Incentive Program of the Bureau of Foreign Trade is applicable to the "Taiwan International Fisheries and Seafood Show", and we plan to invite 150 VIP buyers.
TIFSS 2019 is going to be held in the same time period with the "Taiwan Smart Agriculture Week 2019".
